Outdoor LED display screens are often distinguished by pixel pitch, such as P2.5, P4, P5, P6, P8, P10, P16, etc. [5]. Choosing the best model for an outdoor LED screen is not absolute; it requires a comprehensive assessment based on the specific usage scenario, budget, viewing distance, and environmental conditions. Key considerations include pixel pitch, brightness, protection level, heat dissipation performance, stability, and lifespan.

Pixel pitch refers to the distance between the centers of adjacent LED beads. A smaller value results in a more detailed image, but also a higher price, making it suitable for close-range viewing. Outdoor screens need to withstand strong light; it is recommended to choose a brightness ≥8000 nits, and ≥10000 nits in direct sunlight. A protection level of IP65/IP66 (dustproof + strong waterproof) is a must for outdoor screens. For heat dissipation performance, a die-cast metal housing with an efficient heat dissipation design is required to avoid high-temperature lamp burnout. Regarding stability and lifespan, mainstream brand LED beads can last for over 100,000 hours.

Depending on the playback area and viewing distance, for playback areas less than 20 square meters, a display screen between P2.5 and P5 is recommended. For areas between 20 and 30 square meters, a display screen with a resolution between P5 and P10 is recommended. For areas between 30 and 100 square meters and a viewing distance of more than 10 meters, a display screen with a resolution between P10 and P16 is recommended. For areas ≥ 100 square meters and a viewing distance of more than 30 meters, a display screen with a resolution of P16 or higher is recommended.
